I love me some Walrilla. When I went to Texas he was so good to me. He has become my absolute favorite stalker. And now, I refuse to cry dammit. I know how strong he is, I know he will make it ok.
I have to be a Pollyanna here. Cuz I know that's what he would want me to do.
I remember when I was working in Physical Therapy. They started a new plan that made us work weekends. We were all pissed. It was on one of those weekends that I will never forget.
We got the call to go to ICU. It was unusual for us to have to go to ICU for anything. Most people in ICU don't do physical therapy. But this one was a special case.
A young woman had been in a boating accident. She had her leg amputated. They wanted us to try and get her to just sit up. When we walked in that room I had to fight the tears.
The young womans hair was still caked in blood. All she wanted to do was die. We sat with her for a long time and just talked. I don't remember if we got her up or not. But that young woman touched my heart.
I was involved in her recovery. She ended up with a prosthetic leg. It was a long haul for her. But she made it. I saw her years later, at a grocery store or something. She always remembers me.
She told me that first time that I was a great help to her. She's a successful real estate agent now. And everytime I see her, she is smiling. Her strength radiates from her.
I know Walrilla will be the same. He has the strength to do what this young woman has done. And others before them. I just wish he didn't have to.
